Updated Makeup Routine!

Hey y'all :) I'm back with an updated makeup routine! My go-to look is very natural and dewy. I love neutral tones for my eyes and pink/mauve tones for my lips. I stay away from eyeliner and lip gloss for the most part for my everyday look just out of preference. Hope you enjoy!

For my face:

Before any foundation or concealer goes on my face, I like to prep my skin. After I wash my face, I apply LUMENE Sensitive Touch 5 Minute SOS Cream. This cream is amazing for moisturizing your skin and making you look fresh faced. I wait five minutes for the cream to set in and then apply Solbar Avo Sunscreen. I wait another five minutes before applying POND'S Luminous Finish BB+ Cream. This BB cream is so perfect for daytime because it is very light and doesn't wear off throughout the day. To conceal any blemishes, I use Vichy Ultra Corrective Creme Stick in the color "Nude." This concealer is a lifesaver and is by far my favorite concealer I've come across. To conceal under eye circles I use Elf Cover Everything Concealer in "Light." For blush I either use Sally Hansen cream blush in "Beaming" (Currently unavailable online) or Wet N Wild Pearlescent Pink Blush. Both of these blushes are very pigmented, so I don't use very much and they last forever! To finish off my face, I use COVERALL Wet N Wild Pressed Powder with my Eco Tools Brush. This brush is fluffy, soft, and is one of the best brushes I've ever used! I highly recommend Eco Tools brushes.

For my eyes:

For my eyes I use Physicians Formula Matte Quad Classic Nudes Eyeshadow. The dark shades in this palette also double as a bronzer. I use these shades to contour my cheekbones and nose. I alternate between this eye shadow and the Physicians Formula Nude Wear Palette. I love this palette because it has a shimmery undertone and can be used on top of your cheekbones, nose, and cupid's bow as a highlighter. For lashes I use three different mascaras. First, I use Loreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black. I like that this mascara's wand is like a comb and gives you a lot of control over how much mascara you're putting on. Next, I use Mabelline Rocket Volume Express. This mascara makes it look like you have a million lashes! Then, I use Mabelline Great Lash Mascara. This mascara is the best for getting rid of any clumps and it's also great for the bottom lashes because the wand is so thin.

For my lips:

Now, for my favorite part-lips! I have a few go-to lip liners that I use throughout the week. My current favorites are Rose Crush, Tawny, and Rock N Rose from Jordana Cosmetics. My favorite everyday Nude lipstick is Nude Attitude by Revlon that I usually mix with Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick-111.

Hope you enjoyed and found some new products to try out!

Mint Maxidress

It's been a minute but I'm back with a new post! I recently came across this beautiful mint maxi dress and knew it had to go on the blog. I felt like Princess Jasmine in this dress! It's flowy. comfortable, and elegant. I love the little belt it came with. It is thin and gives the dress shape. I paired the dress with some neutral taupe strappy heels to give the illusion that I'm a little bit taller, since maxi dresses tend to look better on taller girls. As for makeup, I kept it fresh faced with a little BB cream, mascara, blush, and my new favorite lip color by Rimmel!

1 Skirt 2 Ways

Happy New Year! The perfect way to start off the new year is making sure to have basic pieces in your wardrobe to mix and match. A black pencil skirt is classy and simple, and will never go out of style. I tend to always pair it with a top that has black accents and can be tucked in to look like a dress. For my first look I paired a vintage "King's Road" top with my go to black pencil skirt from Bebe. The top originally came with shoulder pads, which I removed since they looked a little funny. I finished off the outfit with my new favorite boots from Charles David, which were thrifted. You really never know what you'll find!

For my second look, I went for a classic black on black look with a little mint pattern. My shoes are definitely my favorite part of the outfit. Something about pointy heels makes me feel professional and grown up. I decided to put my hair up for this look because the collar and print are the main focus of the outfit. Outfit details are listed below!

LBD: Day to Night

Hey y'all! It's no secret that a little black dress is an absolute necessity in any fashionista's wardrobe. What's better than an LBD that you can wear for daytime or nighttime without looking too overdone?! I recently found this beautiful dress at a vintage shop in Los Angeles. I was drawn to it because of the little pockets, the length, the sleeves, and the white details. It's the perfect dress to transition into fall. I paired it with red pointy heels to add a pop of color. The heels make the dress look elegant and classy. They also give it an edgy vibe. The shoes always make an outfit and there is no way this dress would look half as good if it were paired with flats. I always like to pair dresses that are above the knee with a little heel for daytime. The right heel can elongate the legs and make you look tall, confident, and poised. For nighttime, I went a little edgier with my shoe choice. Fall is the perfect time to whip out the thigh high boots! Thigh high boots can be tricky to style since you have to know what to pair them with to make your outfit look just the right amount of sexy (and so you don't end up looking tacky). I decided to pair them with this dress because although the dress is short, it is still very modest on top. The dress paired with the boots is a classy and sexy mix, and is very 60's mod (which I'm obsessed with).

*Tip For The Road: I HIGHLY recommend vintage shopping if you are looking for a little black dress. There are sooooo many dresses that are from different time periods that will look awesome when they are incorporated with shoes and accessories you already own…AND no one else will have the same dress!

Fall Fashion-Jewel Tones

Fall is without a doubt my favorite season for fashion. I was so excited for the first day of fall to come because I was waiting for the perfect occasion to wear all my jewel toned clothes. I came across the cranberry colored hat during the summer and immediately knew I was going to pair it with my cranberry colored boots. Since I was going with the whole cranberry theme, I decided to match my lipstick to my hat and boots as well. I chose to pair all my cranberry accessories with this blue sweater dress. I love sweater dresses for fall because of how soft, comfy, and versatile they are. I have styled this particular dress a million ways in the past. I love how it is simple and will never go out of style. It is the perfect length for a dressy daytime event and can be transformed into a killer nighttime outfit with a statement necklace, a clutch, and some heels.

Mini Drugstore Beauty Haul!

I love finding great quality drugstore beauty products and Milani Cosmetics has never let me down. I recently stocked up on some goodies and I'm very excited to give my two cents on how they have been working for me. I have a very simple makeup routine that I have shared previously but after trying some of these products I think I'm going to have to do an updated one soon! I'm very impressed with how easy these products are to use and the results they are giving me in half the time of some of the other products I've used!

The Products!

The products I used for this makeup look were The Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencil in "Almond Cream," Milani's Runway Lashes Instant Volume Mascara, Milani's Baked Blush in "Luminoso," Milani's Anti-Feathering Transparent Lipliner, and Milani's Lipstick in #26-Nude Creme.

I love the eyeshadow pencil because it makes it so much easier to apply eyeshadow and there's no need to reapply throughout the day since it lasts up to 12 hours. The color is perfect as a base for any eyeshadow. It instantly brightens up the eyes and looks very natural-and it doesn't crease!

This mascara is my new favorite. I think I might like it better than Loreal Telescopic which I have been using FOREVER. This mascara made my lashes look sooo thick and full with just a couple of coats.
They looked like false lashes!

The blush is a gorgeous coral color which I love because it doesn't look obvious that you're wearing blush. It has a gold shimmery undertone which gives your face a luminous glow.

I finished off the look with the transparent lipliner which is what I always do before applying lipstick so it doesn't get all over the place. Usually I like to use a lipliner that is closest to my natural lip color but in this case, since the lipstick is nude, using a pink or mauve lipliner wouldn't have looked right. So this transparent lipliner was perfect to use with the lipstick.

The nude lipstick has just the right amount of a pale pink undertone to it. The color is so versatile and classic that it can go with so many different eyeshadow looks. Just like clothes, it's always important to have staple pieces (and staple lip products!)

It's always a good day when you find good quality products that you can add to your makeup collection that are very inexpensive. I always find myself trying out Milani products when I need to switch up my beauty routine because they have a huge variety of products (and my favorite lipsticks ever) and there's always something new to try!

Daytime Chic

With summer winding down it's almost time to bring out the earth and jewel toned clothes. Not just yet though! I'm still taking advantage of my favorite summer trends. One of them being the knee length body con dress. This style has been seen on different celebrities all summer long and I was hesitant to try the look at first since I always thought because I was on the petite side the dress would make me look shorter. I was wrong. I found this dress recently at TJ Maxx and the print was the first thing to catch my eye. The print on this dress is fun and the dress overall is very flattering. I love how this dress was reasonably priced and the material was not cheap. I have seen this style of dress before and did not buy it because the material was so cheap and did nothing for my body shape. This dress is structured enough and the material is thick enough where it is still comfortable while at the same time showing off your curves. I paired the dress with simple nude pointy heels to keep the look classy and sophisticated.

                                                                   Outfit Details:
There's no need to put away the summer clothes just yet! After trying out the body con dress trend I'm giving it a thumbs up. I love how pairing it with the perfect neutral heel can make the whole look polished and put together as well as glam and sexy. This dress can easily be worn for a nighttime look with bolder heels. I see myself pairing this dress with orange heels or even yellow ones. Body con dresses are a great investment because they can be worn year round and incorporated with summer and fall pieces including summer hats and trench coats. Splurging on a good quality body con dress is a smart idea for anyone who wants to reuse it for different occasions throughout the year :)
